Koh Lipe – A Paradise Island In Thailand

Another weekend getaway of a solo backpacker. When I booked this trip last June 2018, I plan that this was my gift on my birthday. I got a promo fare from Jetstar Asia from Singapore to Hat Yai. Then from there I need to go to Pak Bara Pier and to Koh Lipe Island through their taxi boat.

It was not a peak season when I went there so there’s not much tourist and you could feel the serenity of the place. I booked at Lipe – Bloom Cafe and Hostel around 700 baht per night, it’s location is within the Walking Street so expect that there will be noisy night because some of the bars and restaurants are nearby. I tried their Thai Massage for relieving stress.

When I’ve been there, it’s a rainy season if you can see on my pictures somehow cloudy but still the island hopping went well. The only thing I did not experience is the plankton as it’s raining in the night.

BEST BUY / SOUVENIR TO GET – maxi dress (250 baht)

BEST LOCAL FOOD TO EAT – Pad Thai and Tom Yam is on my list.

BEST WAY OF TRANSPORTATION – grab, mini van (around 250 baht) or taxi boat (around 580 baht per way)

BEST WAY TO SHOP – at the Walking Street there’s a lot of stores that you can buy their delicacy, fridge magnet, massage and Thailand clothes or dress (see to it that it’s made in Thailand because some are made in China), I really like Thailand Fabric that’s why I am more particular when choosing dress to buy.

BEST LOCAL TOUR DESTINATIONS – Island hopping and the Plankton Tour

a simple person, who loves to eat, travel and compose some poems or write-ups.

  1. I’ve spent a lot of time traveling around Thailand but not heard of Koh Lipe until now. Looks and sounds amazing! I can’t wait to go back to Thailand and there are no more restrictions!
